Using Transparent Media on CW-C6x00 series

Explanation:

The CW-C6x00 series is suitable for a wide variety of media, such as continuous, die-cut, black mark labels etc. In some cases, the CW-C6x00 series does not automatically load transparent media by using the automatic paper feed mechanism. In those cases, the printer paper sensors cannot detect the used media due to the transparency of this media.

Feeding paper manually

Special media such as transparent media neither will be detected nor automatically feed into the printer. Therefore, Epson has introduced Manual Feed option from Firmware 03.60.TS29K7 or higher.

See below instructions how to load the media manually:

  1. Open the printer as below (Figure 2).
  2. Make sure the media is not feeded. If it is already inserted in the printer:
    1. Unwind fully back to the core
    2. Switch off the printer
    3. Turn on the printer
  3. Load the media as below until the leading edge contacts the paper feed shaft (Figure 2).

  4. Press the Feed button while hold the paper down as indicated below (Figure 3).
